Managing Director, EU Markets at Wagestream

Alberto Mateos has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Recently, they served as the Managing Director for the EU Markets at Wagestream, where they built and led a team to establish and develop the business in the European Union. Alberto also held the position of General Manager for Iberia at the same company. Prior to Wagestream, Alberto was the COO of Spain at a confidential utility provider and the CIO/CTO at Sodexo. Alberto also gained experience in project management and engineering as the Head of Project Management and Engineering at Stealth. Alberto has a background in IT and technology, as showcased by their roles as the Managing Director of IT & Tech BU at the European Commission and the Project Manager at SanDisk. Alberto started their career as a Research Professor in software and then progressed to become an Analyst/Senior Developer. Additionally, Alberto has served as a jury member for the Marcas de Restauración Awards.

Alberto Mateos has a diverse education history. Alberto obtained an Executive MBA from Stanford University in 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Doctor of Science degree in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 2008. Alberto also holds a Master of Engineering in Project Management and Innovation from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2007, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer and Information Sciences from the same university in 2006. Alberto's education also includes a Degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D., which they completed in 2014. In addition, they pursued further studies in open innovation at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 2006, and in neuromarketing and customer experience at Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) in 2015. Alberto also has expertise in Internet of Things (IoT) acquired from The Valley Digital Business School in 2016.
