Chris Genet

Chris Genet is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as the General Manager of Finance and Business Support at Waimakariri District Council since October 2025. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at Audit New Zealand from February 2011 to October 2025, where positions included Audit Director, Associate Audit Director, Audit Manager, Supervising Senior, Auditor, and Assistant Auditor. Chris Genet holds a Diploma for Graduates (endorsed) in Accounting from the University of Otago, completed in 2010, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Finance, and Business Law from the same institution (2007-2010). Additionally, studies were pursued at Victoria University Wellington, resulting in a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Commercial Law (2006-2007).
