Aron Chakera is a Consultant Nephrologist who served at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital from 2012 to 2023, where they held roles including Transplant Physician and Clinical Lead for Peritoneal Dialysis and Autoimmune Diseases. Since 2012, they have been the Head of Laboratory at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, focusing on improving outcomes for patients with kidney disease through translational renal research. Aron completed their MBBS in Medicine at The University of Western Australia from 1993 to 1998, followed by a DPhil in Molecular Biology at the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2005, and a PGDipLATHE in Higher Education Administration at the same institution from 2007 to 2008.
