R. Scott Barnes

R. Scott Barnes, CPA has extensive work experience in finance and accounting. R. Scott currently serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at Waites since June 2022, after previously holding the position of Chief Financial Officer from July 2019 to June 2022. Prior to their role at Waites, Barnes founded Barnes Financial Group, LLC in December 2014. R. Scott has also served as the Chief Financial Officer at CanDo since September 2015. Earlier in their career, Barnes worked as the Finance Director at Northlich from July 2017 to June 2019. R. Scott was also a Board Director and Independent Consultant at Marian Heath Greeting Cards (now Viabella) from January 2010 to September 2015. Before starting their own firm, Barnes held the position of Chief Financial Officer at The Walnut Group from June 1997 to July 2014. R. Scott began their professional career at H. K. Campbell & Company, where they joined as a Tax Senior Manager in December 1992 and later became the Managing Partner in July 1995. Prior to that, Barnes worked as a Tax Manager at Deloitte from December 1989 to December 1992, and as a Senior Tax Consultant at KPMG US from June 1986 to December 1989. Before entering the finance industry, Barnes served in the United States Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Sergeant from November 1983 to October 1989, and completing various training programs.

R. Scott Barnes, CPA obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with a minor in Accounting, from the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business. R. Scott attended the university from 1982 to 1986. In May 1989, Barnes received their certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Accountancy Board of Ohio.
