Sig Hutchinson has extensive experience in public service and leadership roles within the Wake County area and beyond. Serving as a former Wake County Commissioner and Chair of the Wake County Commission from December 2019 to the present, Hutchinson has actively contributed to local governance and community development. Hutchinson also holds a position on the Board of Advisors for TowneBank and was the Chairperson of the Upper Neuse River Basin Association, focusing on watershed protection. As Chair of GoTriangle, Hutchinson supported regional transit initiatives, and served in various capacities within the NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, addressing transportation issues in the Triangle Region. Additionally, Hutchinson held significant roles with the National Association of Counties and Triangle J Council of Governments. With an educational background from Harvard Business School, University of South Carolina, and Texas Tech University, Hutchinson combines academic credentials with a commitment to public service and community engagement.
