Michael Norton

Michael Norton, MD, MBA, FASA, currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Health since June 2016. Prior to this role, Michael was an Anesthesiologist in the US Army from July 2013 to June 2016, where responsibilities included providing comprehensive perioperative and anesthetic services, consulting, and participating in the education of medical trainees. Additionally, Michael directed the Morbidity and Mortality Committee and oversaw the Ongoing Professional Peer Evaluation initiative for Anesthesia and Operative Services. Earlier experience includes working as a Research Associate at Myriad Genetics, focusing on genetic tests for cancer mutation screening. Education includes an MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, an Anesthesiology Residency from the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, and an MD from Case Western Reserve University.
