Deja Wright is currently a graduate student in Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, a position held since June 2023. Concurrently, Deja is also pursuing a Master's degree in Management at Wake Forest University, which began in July 2022. Previous experience includes roles as a Medical Scribe and Medical Assistant at Blue Ridge Ear Nose and Throat, Inc. from December 2020 to June 2022, as well as a Front Desk Attendant at The Inn at Ragged Gardens from June 2018 to May 2022. Research experience was gained as a Research Assistant in Dr. Zrull's Neuroscience Research Lab from September 2017 to September 2019. Leadership was demonstrated as Vice President of External Affairs and Spirit & Traditions Chairperson for the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS) between May 2017 and May 2019. Deja also worked as a Barista at Starbucks from July 2017 to July 2018. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Psychology of Natural Science from Appalachian State University and a certification in Emergency Medical Technology from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
