Heather Monackey

Heather Monackey is an experienced executive in the healthcare sector, currently serving as Executive Director of Patient Access & Engagement at WakeMed since January 2005. Monackey manages the organization’s digital properties and is responsible for digital strategy and innovation aimed at enhancing patient access and customer experience. Previously, Monackey held roles including Supervisor of Marketing & Communications and Senior Specialist in Public Relations, where responsibilities encompassed proactive media relations and coordination with senior leadership and clinical administrators. Prior experience includes serving as Account Supervisor in the Health Care Practice at French/West/Vaughan, leading a successful media relations campaign for WakeMed that received national recognition. Monackey holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, Advertising, and Communication from North Carolina State University and is pursuing a Master of Science in Organizational Change Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
