Kamilah Barber

Kamilah Barber is an experienced Anatomical Pathologist Assistant at WakeMed since October 2019, responsible for processing laboratory specimens and ensuring proper patient identification. In addition to a role as a Private Tutor since January 2015, Kamilah has a background in histology as a Histologist 1 at Foundation Medicine from June 2018 to September 2019, where skills in slide preparation and staining techniques were developed. Prior experience includes teaching high school science at Northern High School for three years and serving as a Research Assistant at the Julius L. Chambers Biomedical Biotechnical Research Institute. Kamilah began a career in education as a Laboratory Facilitator at North Carolina Central University, supporting biology courses. Kamilah holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology Technician/Biotechnology Laboratory Technician from North Carolina Central University, completed in 2015.
