Brian Backman

Brian Backman has a diverse work experience in procurement and supply chain management. Brian is currently working as the Director of Indirect Procurement at Walbridge since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Procurement Specialist at the same company from October 2020 to December 2021. Before joining Walbridge, Brian was a Consultant at ASSP Advisors LLC from March 2019 to October 2020. Brian also held the position of Director of Commercial Procurement at TopBuild from August 2016 to January 2019. Brian's earlier experience includes working as the Director of Global Sourcing and Logistics at Masco Corporation from March 2011 to January 2016, and as a Consultant at BW Limited from December 2009 to January 2011. Brian has also worked at General Motors in various roles, including Director Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, Indirect Products and Manufacturing Services, Director Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, Global Shared Services, and Manager Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, Marketing and Corporate Services. Brian started their career as a Purchasing Manager at GENERAL MOTORS EUROPE LIMITED and Opel.

Brian Backman has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business from the University of Detroit Mercy, which was obtained between 1989 and 1993. Brian also has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance from Walsh College, earned between 1983 and 1989. In terms of executive education, they completed the Executive Program in Corporate Strategy at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2013 and pursued an executive education course on Accounting and Finance at The Wharton School in 2012. Additionally, they hold a certification in Six Sigma Greenbelt from SSA & Company.
