Julia Sawyer is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education and community development. As Development Director at the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh since 2011, Julia has played a key role in advancing fundraising and community engagement initiatives. Prior to this, Julia served as Board Chair and Community Volunteer for the Society for Contemporary Craft from June 2002 to March 2011. Julia also founded Sawyer Consulting, providing education consulting services from 2001 to 2007, and held the position of Director of Community and Continuing Education at the University of Pittsburgh from 1997 to 2001, where responsibilities included the reorganization of continuing education programs. Julia holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a Master’s in Comparative Literature and a Bachelor’s in Linguistics, highlighting a strong academic foundation in the humanities.
