Andrew Hayes is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in gas transmission systems. Currently serving as a Physical Strategy Engineer at Wales & West Utilities since April 2000, Andrew is responsible for reviewing and authorizing non-routine procedures for maintenance, repair, and operations. Previously, Andrew held the position of Network Analyst at both Wales & West Utilities and Transco, where activities included model building, network planning, and steady state analysis. In an earlier role at Sitec, Andrew managed a team focused on digitizing graphical interface systems and improving data validation processes. Andrew began their career as a Product Engineer at Rotork Controls, engaging in product development, design finalization, and pre-production testing. Andrew holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West of England and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering from the City of Bristol.

We are Wales & West Utilities, your gas emergency and pipeline service. Everyday our skilled and dedicated team do their very best to keep our 7.5 million customers safe and warm, with a gas supply they can rely on and a level of service they can trust. We don’t sell gas, instead we use our 35,000 kilometre network of pipes to transport gas to homes and businesses across Wales and the south west of England. Connecting new customers, maintaining our gas network and responding to gas emergencies is all in day’s work, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It’s a vital service, and one we are very proud to deliver.
