Job Overview 

The Director of Transportation Electrification is responsible for leading and supporting the growth of Walker-Miller’s Transportation Electrification division. This individual will lead the development, delivery, and management of Transportation Electrification programs for utility, government and business clients. This role requires a combination of strategic planning, client relationship management, and deep understanding of transportation electrification technologies and their benefits. 

Walker-Miller aims to establish solid relationships with clients and partners. The Director of Transportation Electrification is responsible for crafting program strategies that align with customer objectives, educational needs, and understanding of electrification, with a dedication and focus to providing equitable mobility solutions to all customers.

  • Expert on Transportation Electrification Infrastructure and grid integration technologies and their related program design. 
  • Abreast with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols in the transportation electrification domain. Stays updated on legal and regulatory changes. 
  • Has a strong network of utility, business and government clients and is adept at building and guiding strong relationships with partner and clients.  
  • Responsible for partnering with Business Development in identifying, shaping, and winning opportunities with an annual sales target 
  • Focuses on partnering with Business Development in building a pipeline for 6+ quarters into the future and building and nurturing customer relationships for continued growth. 
  • Oversee the transportation electrification program and pilot teams for their entire lifecycle from bid submission, program design, to implementation 
  • Develop and implement strategies for transportation electrification in line with Walker-Miller & the client’s goals. 
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to continuously innovate and improve programs and drive new partnerships. 
  • Provide expertise and guidance on the latest trends and technologies related to Electric vehicle infrastructure, Optimized Charging, Demand Response, Distributed Energy resources and more 
  • Oversee the preparation of reports, presentations, KPI (Key Performance Indicators) related to transportation electrification. 
  • Forecast, track, and deliver portfolio level financial targets and performance 
  • Oversee all engagement activities with communities to increase awareness and adoption of beneficial electrification solutions. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to the program and pilot teams, fostering a collaborative and results- orientated environment. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design portfolio budgets and determine staffing 
  • Collaborating effectively with leaders, partners, subject matter experts, and clients to ensure essential communications are conveyed to all organizational levels. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Business Administration, Engineering, Policy or a related field. 
  • 10+ years' experience in transportation electrification infrastructure related field 
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated experience in client development/management with experience working with utilities. 
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated experience leading programs lifecycle 
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated strategic approach, adept at recognizing and capitalizing on new opportunities 
  • Proficient in effective communication at all organizational levels, including upward to Senior Leadership, downward to team members, and across to peers and other departments. 
  • Extensive background in driving business expansion and cultivating strong client 

 

Travel: 

  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
