Heidi Rose Buckhout

Heidi Rose Buckhout is an experienced communications and marketing professional specializing in sustainability. Currently serving as the Director of Global Sustainability Communications at Walmart since September 2025, Buckhout previously held the position of Communications Lead at the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials. Additional roles include Managing Consultant for Global Sustainability at Guidehouse and Senior Communications Consultant in Commercial Sustainability, where expertise in strategic communications was utilized for various federal and public projects. Buckhout has extensive experience in building brands and developing communications strategies through roles at Manifest Ink, University of Denver, and Rotary International. A graduate of the University for Peace with a Master of Arts in Responsible Management and Sustainable Economic Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Colorado State University, Buckhout has consistently focused on advancing sustainability initiatives and communications strategies across multiple sectors.
