Jerry R. Geisler III

SVP, CISO at Walmart

Jerry Geisler, chief information security officer of Walmart’s global Information Security department, is responsible for ensuring the security of data encompassing Walmart’s 260 million customers and 2.3 million associates. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the company’s security and data center operations, information security strategy and risk, engineering, governance and compliance.

Walmart’s information security program, under Jerry’s leadership, has become renowned as a forward-thinking industry leader focused on emerging best-in-class information security practices, innovation and business enablement.

Jerry is a regular contributor to the information security industry through frequent speaking engagements and contributions to industry papers and publications. He is an advisory board member for Team 8’s venture capital fund and is a committee member of the Executive Security Action Forum. He participates in Microsoft’s CSO Council, the Security for Business Innovation Council, the FBI’s InfraGard and Security 50. He previously served as an advisory board member of the National STEM Consortium, and is currently an adjunct professor with the Donald G. Soderquist Graduate School of Business at John Brown University.

Jerry is a United States Marine Corps veteran. He has earned a bachelor of science degree in organizational management, a master of science degree in leadership and ethics and a master of business administration degree from John Brown University. He also holds several technical security certifications and an executive education certificate in cybersecurity from the Harvard Kennedy School.
