Group Director Marketing at Walraven Group

Johan Gijsman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Johan began their career as a Project Manager at Heijmans Bestcon in 1996 and later became the Director of the company from 2000 to 2005. Johan then worked at Rockwool Benelux as the Manager of Business Development from 2005 to 2007. Johan then became the Managing Director of BuildDesk Group, a software and consultancy activity within the Rockwool Group, from 2007 to 2011. Johan then took on the role of International Product Management Director at Rockwool International, where they were responsible for product management and market share in specific segments. In 2016, they served as the Managing Director of Voortman Steel Construction for a short period of time, overseeing the P&L responsibility for the company. Johan also had a role as the Division Manager at Wiltec BV from 2016 to 2017 before joining the Walraven Group. At Walraven Group, Johan has held the positions of Marketing Director Europe and Group Director Marketing, where they have been responsible for various marketing activities and has been a member of the Group Management Team and European Management Team.

Johan Gijsman has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in civil engineering from Delft University of Technology, which they completed from 1988 to 1994. In 1998 and 1999, they also studied business, management, marketing, and related support services at Avans University of Applied Sciences. In 2012, they attended IMD for a course in leadership for change, and in 2014, they pursued a program in marketing excellence at IMD. Additionally, in 2016, Johan studied marketing in a digital world at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
