Frances Lumpkin Webster has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. In 1998, they joined Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners as a New Business Director, a position they held until 2002. After that, they worked at Mad Dogs and Englishmen as a New Business Director from December 2002 to May 2005. In 2005, they became the CEO of Walrus. Frances then transitioned to the field of education and joined The University of the South as a member of the Board of Trustees in April 2020 and later became a member of the Board of Regents in October 2022. Most recently, in January 2023, they joined the Historic Charleston Foundation as a Member of the Board of Trustees.

Frances Lumpkin Webster attended The University of the South from 1991 to 1995, where they received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
