David Wheeler

David is CEO and owner of a consultancy business that undertakes a diverse range of education focused activities, such as end-point assessment for AAT, dissertation supervision and support in leadership, governance, change management, market potential, quality and social impact, financial systems and planning, and apprenticeship development and activity. Prior to setting up his own business ten years ago, David worked for many years at Walsall College and was Deputy Principal at the time of leaving.

Having spent 25 years of his career in engineering at JLR and IMI Ltd, he subsequently moved into education at Walsall College. David firmly believes that full time education should have a clear emphasis on and direction towards employment and work-based skills. In addition, David supports the continued growth of the apprenticeship offer at the college.

David’s personal interests include football, cricket and walking.

Dave joined Corporation in March 2019 and was appointed as Chair in October 2022.
