Alexander Ulfers

Medical Director, Maternal Infant Care Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

Alexander Ulfers, DO, FACOG has extensive work experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Alexander currently serves as the Medical Director of the Maternal Infant Care Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since January 2023. Prior to this, they were an Assistant Professor at Uniformed Services University, starting in August 2022.

Dr. Ulfers also has a strong background in the United States Air Force, where they worked as an Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician from August 2022 to the present and previously from July 2020 to July 2022.

Before their military service, they gained valuable experience at St. John's Episcopal Hospital, where they worked as a Resident Physician from July 2016 to July 2020. Alexander also served as a Traditional Rotating Intern at the same hospital from July 2015 to June 2016.

Alexander Ulfers, DO, FACOG completed their Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Luther College in 2011. Alexander then pursued their Doctor of Osteopathy degree in Medicine at A.T. Still University of Health Sciences from 2011 to 2015.
