Charlotte Hayward

Deputy Head Of ESOL at Waltham Forest College

Charlotte Hayward has a diverse work experience in the field of English as a Second Language (ESOL) teaching. Charlotte is currently the Deputy Head of ESOL at Waltham Forest College since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Westminster Adult Education Service where they held the positions of ESOL Course Leader and English Second Language Tutor from January 2021 to August 2022.

From September 2018 to October 2021, Charlotte worked at Activate Learning as an ESOL Lecturer, Teacher, and Foundation Teacher. Charlotte'sresponsibilities included assessing and placing students, designing course content and syllabus, and scheduling exams. Charlotte also provided tutorials and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support student welfare and academic progress.

Before their role at Activate Learning, Charlotte worked as a Private EFL/ESOL Tutor from February 2017 to October 2021, offering personalized lessons tailored to the needs of learners in areas such as EAP, Business English, and ESP.

Charlotte also has experience as an English Language Trainer at Learnlight from February 2020 to March 2020, and as a Native EFL Teacher at Eurospeak from July 2017 to September 2019. At Eurospeak, they taught an evening CAE/Advanced class and conducted unit testing and mock CAE practice for exam preparation.

From September 2016 to June 2018, Charlotte worked as a Native EFL Teacher at Cambridge School Portugal, teaching beginner to FCE level students of various ages in Lisbon.

Charlotte also had a teaching position at Exsportise Ltd in July and August 2016, where they taught English to beginner and intermediate level students of mixed nationality at a residential school.

Furthermore, Charlotte worked briefly as a Native EFL Teacher at InterWay Cursos de Idiomas en el Extranjero in September and October 2014.

Charlotte Hayward completed a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management from the University of Gloucestershire from 2010 to 2014. In 2015, they attended the Brasshouse Language Centre and obtained a CELTA certification. From 2021 to 2023, they pursued a PGCE Further Education & Skills degree in ESOL at the University of Greenwich.
