Dr. Shelby Hale

Dr. Shelby Hale, Ed.D has extensive experience in the education field. Dr. Shelby currently works as an Associate Principal at Waltham Public Schools. Prior to this, they served as an Instructional Coach at Naugatuck Board Of Education and Region 14, where they provided expert leadership in instruction, assessment, and coordination for science curriculum improvement.

Before that, Dr. Hale was an 8th Grade Science Teacher at City Hill Middle School in Naugatuck Board Of Education, where they also acted as the Science Department Leader and Curriculum Intern. Dr. Shelby developed science competencies for grades K-12 and led professional learning sessions for teachers.

Dr. Hale began their career as a 5th/6th Grade Science Teacher at Jumoke Academy Charter School, where they also served as a Team Leader and Instructional Coach. Here, they received several awards and recognition for their teaching abilities and guidance provided to other teachers.

Before entering the education field, Dr. Hale worked as an Analytical Chemist at MacDermid, where they analyzed samples using various techniques and reported scientific results. Dr. Shelby also gained experience as a Resident Assistant at Central Connecticut State University.

Dr. Shelby Hale, Ed.D has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Central Connecticut State University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2014. In 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Secondary Education Science from the University of Bridgeport. From 2017 to 2022, they completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General at the University of Bridgeport. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Teaching Certificate in Secondary General Science, 7-12 in October 2020, a Teaching Certificate in Middle School General Science, 4-8 in December 2020, and an Intermediate Administration or Supervision 092 certification from the CT State Department of Education in November 2021.
