Matthew Porter has a wealth of experience in the legal field, starting with their position as an Associate at Sidley Austin LLP in 2004. During their time there, they represented insurance and financial services clients in various transactions.

In 2012, Matthew joined AIG as an Assistant General Counsel, where they advised the AIG general insurance business and senior management on financing and M&A transactions, insurance regulatory matters, and corporate governance issues. Matthew later became an Associate General Counsel and continued to provide legal guidance to the company.

In 2016, Matthew transitioned to AIG Investments, where they held the position of Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Matthew then became Head of AEEM Legal, Managing Director, and Associate General Counsel. In this role, they led the legal team responsible for clients' alternative investment portfolios and provided counsel on various investment and transactional matters.

Currently, Matthew serves as a Managing Director and Assistant General Counsel at Warburg Pincus LLC, a role they assumed in December 2021. Matthew previously held the position of Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at the same company.

Matthew Porter received their primary education from McQuaid Jesuit from 1993 to 1997. Following that, they attended Columbia University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Subsequently, they pursued a Juris Doctor degree in Law from New York University School of Law, from 2001 to 2004. Matthew has additional certifications, for which they were admitted to practice law in both New York and Illinois.
