Delia Rusu

Delia Rusu has a strong background in data science and machine learning. Their most recent role was as a Chapter Lead Data Science at The Warehouse Group, where they began in July 2023. Prior to that, they were an Autumn23 Woman Fellow at Startmate from June to July 2023. From 2019 to 2023, Delia worked at Xero as a Senior Applied Scientist, where they played a key role in delivering Bank Reconciliation Predictions and received recognition for their work. Delia also acted as a team lead and product manager, mentored junior scientists, and conducted technical interviews. Delia's experience also includes roles at Ministry of Social Development (MSD) as a Data Science Manager and Lead Data Scientist, Knowsis Limited as a Chief Data Scientist, Bloomberg LP as an Intern, RENDER - European Research Project as a Researcher and Work Package Leader, Jozef Stefan Institute as a Doctoral Researcher, Google as an Intern in Natural Language Understanding, and Technical University of Cluj-Napoca as a Research Assistant.

Delia Rusu obtained their Dipl. Ing. Degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, which they attended from 2003 to 2008. Delia also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the Jozef Stefan International Postgraduate School, where they studied from 2008 to 2014.
