Brandon P. Cross

Bran Cross counsels clients in the areas of general corporate transactions and employee benefits – with an emphasis on ESOPs and deferred compensation plans for key management personnel. His work encompasses drafting government grants, making employee benefit plan amendments, conducting mental parity, affiliated service group and controlled group analyses and being the extra set of eyes and ears for retirement and compensation plan designs.

With a background in accounting, Bran “gets” numbers, data, systems and order. These factors offer a consistency that Bran truly appreciates – bringing stability and predictability to an often bewildering area of law. His valuable research and cognizance of the corporate and employee benefits arenas aids employers in their never-ending quest for compliance. Attracting, managing and retaining employees is a laborious task and it requires constant training as laws shift and evolve.

Bran’s attention to detail and resourcefulness make him an essential member of Warner’s Employee Benefits and Corporate Practice Groups. He’s always the first to step up and take on a project – no matter how daunting or complex. His “team player” attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute are evident with every interaction and assignment.

Bran earned an Associate of Arts from North Central Michigan College, with highest distinction, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting with Lake Superior State University, cum laude. He earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law, summa cum laude, where he was the editor in chief for the Michigan State Law Review and won Jurisprudence Achievement Awards in civil procedure, criminal law, advocacy and torts II.
