Jonathan Hewlett

Principal at Warren and Mahoney

Jonathan began his tenure at the practice following the completion of his degree in architecture in 1999, after spending four years as a qualified draughtsman. He was made a Principal of the Practice in 2003.

Jonathan excels in complex projects across a wide scope of disciplines, including commercial and hospitality, medium to high density apartments, student accommodation, hospitality, interior design, and education environments. He is particularly drawn to innately challenging briefs – whether it’s in scale, nature or logistics – and resolving challenges between functionalities, technicalities and stakeholders.

Jonathan is involved in the whole process of design and construction, from the first sketch to the fully formed built environment. As a lead designer, he explores ideas and expands spaces through defining features and details, bringing an architectural craftsmanship to the purpose of the building.

His approach to advising clients is underpinned by integrity and authenticity. He builds key relationships that last years beyond the course of a project. These enduring connections have meant clients come back to Jonathan on continuing briefs – a testament to the level of trust he creates, strengthened by the commercial success of his projects.
