Ian Rainbolt

Ian Rainbolt is the Co-Chief Investment Officer of Warwick Investment Group, and is responsible for leading Warwick’s investment initiatives in the US and Europe as well as determining the strategic direction of the firm. Ian, together with Kate Richard (Founder & CEO), lead the investment committees of the firm.

Ian has extensive experience acquiring, financing and managing real estate, energy and digital assets. While at Warwick, Ian has evaluated over $5B in real assets transactions across North America and Europe in addition to over $1B in technology and media opportunities.

As part of his role at Warwick, Ian leads the global finance and commercial teams while working closely with Warwick’s data science team and its AI-assisted fundamental investment strategies.

Most recently in 2021, Ian oversaw the underwriting for a $450MM commitment for acquisition and development of energy assets in the Eagle Ford as well as >$100MM in residential acquisitions in London across 16 buildings.

Within Warwick’s technology and media investments, Ian is responsible for underwriting the firm’s principal commitments across its venture and early-stage blockchain portfolio, encompassing over 20 liquid and illiquid investments.

Prior to joining Warwick, Ian was an investment banker at BMO Capital Markets (NYSE: BMO) and served in various senior corporate finance roles at ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP). While at COP, Ian worked closely with executive leadership on a range of financial priorities, including the decision to reduce the company dividend by more than $2B annually and later initiate a share repurchase program. Ian supported the evaluation of many of COP’s global real estate transactions, including the lease financing and acquisition of its new corporate headquarters and the ongoing management of its Anchorage, Alaska real estate portfolio.

Ian graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s degree with high honors in Finance and an MBA. His studies focused on Energy and Real Estate.

Ian is also a member of the Dallas Blockchain Professionals, a group dedicated to sharing ideas across distributed ledger technology.
