Chelsea Mason-Placek

Chelsea Mason-Placek is an experienced professional with a diverse background in workforce development, legislative affairs, and nonprofit management. Currently serving as the Workforce Development Director for the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO since May 2021, Chelsea also co-founded Tentacle Wrap LLC in July 2017. In addition to these roles, Chelsea is a board member of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and has contributed as a council member for the USDOL Workforce Information Advisory Council until August 2023. Chelsea's previous positions include Legislative and Political Director for the Machinists Union, District 751, and Legislative Director for the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace. Chelsea's leadership experience in community initiatives is further exemplified by a past role as the PurpleStride Puget Sound Chair. Chelsea holds a Master's degree in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in English from The George Washington University.
