Liz Buckman has extensive experience in education and community service. Currently serving as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Blind for Washington County Public Schools since August 2020, Liz also founded Emmitsburg Cares in July 2016, a grassroots organization addressing the opioid crisis in North Frederick County. Additional roles include being a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Catholic Church since August 2019 and previously working as a Special Education Teacher at Springfield Middle School and a Commissioner for the Town of Emmitsburg. Liz's educational background includes a Master's in Special Education and Teaching from Marymount University, a degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University, and a Master's in Education focusing on Orientation Mobility and Teaching of the Visually Impaired from the University of Pittsburgh.
