Matt Leech is a seasoned professional in emergency services and martial arts with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a Reserve Deputy and Medic on the Tactical Negotiation Team at the Washington County Sheriff's Office since March 2013, Matt also holds the position of Lieutenant/Paramedic at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue since June 2000, managing fire and emergency medical operations. Previous roles include Business Owner and Head Coach at Close Contact Training Academy, where the emphasis was on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and real-life application, and Volunteer Work with Medical Teams International, developing fire training programs for local services in the Philippines. Matt also has a background as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Coach at Impact Jiu Jitsu and as a co-owner of Newton BJJ, LLC. Earlier experience includes working as a Lead Instructor at CFBT-US and as an Engineer/Paramedic with Douglas County Fire District #2. Educational credentials include studies at Portland Community College and Umpqua Community College, along with a high school diploma from Roseburg High School.
