James Meadows

Dean, Educator Career Pathways at Washington Education Association

James Meadows has extensive experience in education, currently serving as Dean of Educator Career Pathways at the Washington Education Association since June 2002. In addition, James holds positions as an Instruction, Certification & Higher Education Specialist and Membership Campaign Lead within the same organization. With a background in consulting as the owner of James Meadows Consulting since January 1996, James also served as President of the Washington Education Association Staff Organization from August 2020 to September 2022 and worked as a Professional Issues Organizing Specialist for NEA from September 2013 to February 2015. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington, Teacher and Teacher on Special Assignment at Edmonds School District, and various educational positions. James holds a PhD in Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Washington, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Puget Sound, and a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in History and Spanish from Whitman College, supplemented by studies at Universidad de Oviedo.
