Patrick Sugrue has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Patrick started their career as a Content Writer for MedicalBug in 2012, where they provided information on symptoms and treatments for different ailments. Patrick then worked as an Internet Marketing Specialist for Search Influence, LLC, where they wrote content for national and international clients. Patrick also served as the Editor-in-Chief for Bellow Literary Journal, curating poetry and prose submissions. Patrick later joined the Olancho Aid Foundation as a Bilingual Primary School Instructor, empowering Honduran youth through education. Patrick then worked as a Middle School Social Studies Instructor at Daystar School. Patrick transitioned into the creative field as the Director of Content for Pinnacle Creative Studio and later as the Director of Content Development & Branding for Rebel Unicorn. In 2020, they joined the Washington Federation of State Employees, initially as a Communications Specialist, then as the Interim Communications Director, and currently as the Director of Communications. In this role, they are responsible for communicating the union's values and initiatives, serving as a liaison to the press, overseeing website design and social media presence, and strategizing media events and activities. Patrick Sugrue attended Loyola University New Orleans from 2008 to 2012, where they pursued a degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing and Latin American Studies. Additionally, in 2009 to 2010, they studied at Universidad Iberoamericana, Ciudad de México, specializing in Latin American Studies, with a particular emphasis on Spanish language, Latin American studies, and Nahuatl poetry.
