David Sorrell has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and management. David started their career as a Computer Information Consultant at the Washington State Department of Licensing in 1991 and later worked as a Director at Fujitsu Consulting from 1997 to 2005. David then joined the Washington State, Department of Information Services as a Senior Project Manager from 2005 to 2008.

In 2008, David became the Chief Information Officer at the Washington State Department of Revenue, where they served until February 2023. During their tenure, they also held the position of IT Program Manager from 2008 to 2012.
