Francesco Palmeri

Francesco Palmeri has a diverse work experience in reliability engineering and asset management. Francesco started their career in 1992 as a Fitter and Turner technician in the Australian Army, where they assessed and repaired technical equipment. Francesco then worked as an Aeronautical Engineer for several operational business units, managing aircraft maintenance and modification programs. Francesco pursued higher education and obtained a Master's degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland. After completing their studies, they joined the Australian Army as a Senior Reliability Engineer, optimizing maintenance programs for defense helicopter fleets. Francesco then joined BHP Billiton as a Superintendent Reliability Engineer, where they developed maintenance strategies and managed reliability improvement programs for a coal mine operation. Currently, Francesco is working for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) as Vice President of Reliability Engineering & Asset Management, where their role involves driving improvements in maintenance and asset management activities.

Francesco Palmeri holds a Master's Degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland - A. James Clark School of Engineering, which was obtained from 2010 to 2011. Prior to this, they completed a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at UNSW from 2005 to 2008, and a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from UNSW from 2000 to 2003. Francesco also possesses various certifications, including Lean Six Sigma, The Effective Facilitator, Asset Management, Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Leading Operational Excellence, Certified Reliability Engineer, and Vibration Analyst ISO CAT I. The years of completion for these certifications range from 2014 to 2020.
