Omar Taveras

Analyst, Baseball Research & Development at Washington Nationals

Omar Taveras has a diverse work experience in various industries. Omar started their career as an ITEC Intern at SGCIB in 2006 before moving on to internships at JPMorgan Chase, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and Entertainment Weekly. In 2010, they worked as an intern at Plough Penny Partners.

Taveras then transitioned to a forecasting role at Nickelodeon, where they started as a Forecasting Assistant in 2011, became a Forecasting Analyst in 2013, and eventually served as a Senior Analyst of Forecasting from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, they joined Fluent, Inc as a Senior Data Analyst and later became the Manager of Performance Analytics. In 2019, they interned at Driveline Baseball Enterprises, Inc as a TRAQ Intern.

Prior to their current role, Taveras worked at The Whole Coffee Company as a Marketing Analytics Intern in 2020. Omar currently works at the Washington Nationals as an Intern in the Baseball Research & Development department and has since been promoted to an Analyst in the same field.

Omar Taveras began their education at Deerfield Academy from 2003 to 2007, where they completed their high school education. Omar then attended Brown University from 2007 to 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a field of study in Economics. In 2016 to 2017, Omar attended General Assembly, where they pursued studies in Data Science. Later, they pursued further education at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2019 to 2021, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a joint degree in Computer Science (MS).
