Ashlen Strong, JD, MPH has extensive experience in government affairs and public policy within the healthcare industry. Ashlen is currently serving as the Vice President of Government Affairs at the Washington State Hospital Association, where they previously held the role of Senior Director of Government Affairs. Prior to this, Ashlen worked as a Senior Consultant at Health Management Associates, providing healthcare policy and strategy consulting services. Ashlen also held positions at Health Share of Oregon, where they served as the Director of Public Policy & Communications and as the Senior Manager of Government & Regulatory Affairs. Ashlen's earlier experience includes roles at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, the Alzheimer's Association, Stateside Associates, and the Oregon Legislative Assembly, where they served as Chief of Staff and a Legislative Aide. Through these positions, Ashlen has developed expert knowledge in state and federal healthcare policy, Medicaid, government affairs strategy, and legislative advocacy.
Ashlen Strong, JD, MPH obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Spanish from Willamette University, where they attended from 2001 to 2005. Ashlen then pursued further studies at The George Washington University Law School from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a focus on Law and Health Policy. Additionally, during the same period, Strong also attended The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health and obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, with a specialization in Law and Health Policy.
