David McDonough

Police & Homeland Security Director at Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission

As Director of the Police and Homeland Security Division, David manages the WSSC Water Police and security teams with the aim of providing a safe, effective and efficient response to our customers and employees. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, in March 2020, David has also served as Incident Commander guiding/helming WSSC Water’s response to the pandemic in ensuring the health and safety of both our workforce and our customers.

David’s experience in emergency management and homeland security across the state of Maryland and in the National Capital Region includes helping lead the Maryland Emergency Management Agency through a number of declared disasters.

A graduate of University of Maryland’s Carey School of Law and a Syracuse Orangeman, he is a father of three, an avid golfer with a hole-in-one to his name, a fan of all Baltimore sports, a lover of trivia and former It’s Academic competitor.
