Richard Thakor is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management since June 2016, where responsibilities include instructing various finance courses across PhD, undergraduate, and MBA programs. Additionally, Richard serves as an Assistant Professor of Finance at MIT Sloan School of Management and maintains affiliations as a Research Affiliate with the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering and the WFA Center for Finance and Accounting Research. As a former Derivatives Trading Analyst at NISA Investment Advisors, Richard gained extensive experience in fixed income and equity futures trading. Richard holds a PhD in Financial Economics from MIT, as well as multiple master's degrees in Management Research and Finance and Economics from prestigious institutions.
