Stephanie Cook

Stephanie Cook is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as Chief Deputy Public Defender for Juvenile in Washoe County since August 2021, leading a team dedicated to advocating for youth in the juvenile justice system. Previous experience includes roles as Deputy Public Defender and Deputy Executive Director at Washoe Legal Services, where responsibilities encompassed legal representation for vulnerable populations and operational management. Additionally, Stephanie held positions that involved child advocacy, legislative counsel, and legal support at various organizations, including the Federal Public Defender and Pepper Hamilton LLP. Stephanie holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Minnesota Law School and a Bachelor’s degree in Policy Studies and Political Science from Syracuse University.
