Stephen Ricci

Chief Technology Officer at Waste Hub

Stephen Ricci has a strong background in clean technology development and sustainability. Stephen worked at Battelle from 1993 to 2015, initially as a Senior Research Scientist and later as a Research Leader. In these roles, they were responsible for new business development, program management, and leading teams of engineers. Stephen also negotiated licensing agreements with small businesses and successfully developed multiple energy efficiency and sustainability projects, generating $5M in project revenues.

In 2015, they joined Waste Hub as the Chief Technology Officer, where they directed technology strategy, development, and deployment for the creation of value from waste streams. Their responsibilities included program planning, new business development, financial projections, partnerships, and client relationship management.

Since 2018, Stephen has been working at 10X Engineered Materials as a Partner and Chief Technology Officer. In this role, they are the inventor of the 10X abrasives manufacturing process and oversees technology planning, quality control, new product development, marketing, and public outreach.

Stephen Ricci earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh from 1985 to 1989. Stephen then pursued further education at Purdue University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemical Engineering from 1989 to 1993.
