William Ding began their work experience as the Business Owner of Morning Solution Ltd from July 2007 to December 2007. William then worked at NZ Bus starting in September 2009, initially as an Assistant Accountant and later as a Management Accountant, Southern Region Accountant, and Northern Region Accountant. In 2014, they joined Waste Management NZ Ltd as a Senior Accountant and subsequently held positions as a Commercial Finance Manager, Integrated Business Planning Manager, and Chief Financial Officer.

William Ding's education history includes completing a MAP Manager Activation Programme in the Massey Business School at Massey University in 2017. In 2012 and 2013, they obtained the Chartered Accountant degree from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In 2008 and 2009, they pursued a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at Victoria University of Wellington. Lastly, from 2003 to 2005, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) with double majors in Accounting and Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington.
