Michael Declerck

Michael DeClerck has over three decades of experience in the waste management industry, currently serving as the Area Director of Recycling Operations at Waste Management since March 2005. Michael has previously held various leadership positions focusing on Operations Management, Marketing, and Project Management in both Collection and Post-Collection divisions. Prior to Waste Management, Michael worked at Republic Services as a Facility Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing a Waste Transfer Station and Materials Recovery Facility, managing budgets, fleet maintenance, and ensuring environmental compliance. Michael’s career also includes a role as General Manager at Olympic Disposal Corp., where oversight of operations involved scheduling, marketing of recycled materials, and staff management. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and Business from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
