Boris Portman has a long history of working in the technology industry. Boris is currently the Founder and CEO of Salsa Ventures, LLC, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they were the Founder and CEO of SalsaMobi, a company specializing in senior blockchain, full stack javascript, and mobile software engineers, from 2007 to 2021. In 2019, they joined the Alumni Advisory Board of Carnegie Mellon University's Master of Software Engineering (MSE) Professional Programs. In 2018, they became a Mentor for Techstars, the #1 startup accelerator in the world. In 2016, they were the CTO for WastePlace, an on-demand service for waste and recycling services. From 2013-2016, they were an Advisor for Siminars and a Coach for DreamIt Ventures, a venture capital firm. In 2012, they were the CEO of BlinkSend. From 2010-2012, they were the Founder and CEO of Descuento Libre, the leading e-Commerce source for digital discounts for Boris'spanics in the US and Mexico. Finally, from 2009-2010, they were the Managing Director for Growth Acceleration Partners, a team of experienced executives with strong operating backgrounds.
Boris Portman obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math and Business from Carnegie Mellon University in 1996. Boris then pursued a Master of Science in Software Engineering and Business from the same university, which they completed in 1996. In 2006, they obtained a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance. In 1996, they also obtained a Certified SEI Personal Software Process (PSP) Practitioner from the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University.
