Mike Birkemeier

Director of RF Engineering at Watch Communications

Mike Birkemeier has an extensive work experience in the field of RF engineering and telecommunications. Mike started their career at Triplett Corp. in Bluffton, Ohio, where they specialized in troubleshooting and repairing digital and analog meters and test equipment. Mike also built test fixtures for production-line testing during their time there.

After working at Triplett Corp., Mike joined the Bluffton Autovon Switch as a Toledo Junction Autovon Switch operator, where they worked from November 1983 to June 1991.

In 1991, Mike moved on to WATCH TV Co., where they served as the Installation Manager, overseeing the installation and technical staff for video and internet services. Mike also tested and evaluated subscriber equipment.

In 1999, Mike joined Watch Communications as the Chief Engineer, responsible for managing multiple tower sites, including a master headend broadcast facility with an 1100 ft tower. Mike also performed maintenance and repair on high-power 2.5 GHz transmission equipment in the BRS/EBS band.

Later on, in 2016, Mike transitioned to the role of Radio Frequency Engineer at Watch Communications, where they specialized in designing and building PtP microwave links in various GHz bands. Mike also worked on PmP 2 projects.

As of April 2021, Mike currently holds the position of Director of RF Engineering at Watch Communications.

Mike Birkemeier obtained an Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from I.T.T. Technical Institute, where they studied from 1978 to 1980. Prior to their time at the institute, they attended Kalida High School in Kalida, OH, although the specific dates and degree information for this educational experience are unknown.
