Doug Wendel

Doug Wendel has extensive experience in the technology and software industry. Doug currently holds the position of Vice President of Software and Computational Biology at Watchmaker Genomics. Doug previously served as the Chief Technology Officer at Biobot Analytics and Vice President of Oncology Cloud Operations at Invitae. In these roles, they led software and data science teams, implemented CI/CD platforms, and ensured compliance with regulatory frameworks. Doug also played key roles in ArcherDX, Inc., where they managed cloud operations and software development, and contributed to the company's significant growth and acquisition. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Colorado Boulder as a Professional Research Associate and Research Faculty, focusing on microbiology and genomics. Doug's early career included positions at SimAuthor/Qinetiq North America, Qualistar Early Learning, Massage Specialists, Media News Group, and MeetingOne, where they developed software, databases, and analytical tools for various industries.

Doug Wendel earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder from 2023 to 2025. Doug also previously attended the same university from 1994 to 1998, majoring in Computer Science.
