Laura Smoliar

Laura Smoliar serves as the CEO of Quantum Denmark since May 2025, overseeing the development of a new initiative at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen that supports quantum technology companies. Concurrently, Laura holds the position of CEO at DFM - Danish National Metrology Institute, driving similar initiatives for quantum businesses. As Managing Director of Cria Innovations, LLC, Laura focuses on early-stage investments in deep technology firms. Laura's extensive experience includes past roles as Executive Director for the Taiwan Science & Technology Hub at Stanford University and as a founding partner of the Berkeley Catalyst Fund, architecting a hybrid fund structure to foster innovation. Additional board memberships have included Water Harvesting Inc and Nelumbo, Inc. Laura earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, where an A.B. in Chemistry was also obtained, graduating summa cum laude from Columbia University.
