Diwakar Das has a diverse work experience spanning from 2001 to 2016. Diwakar started their career as a Co-ordinator for the RCH project at the Population Research Centre and worked there until 2005. From 2006 to 2008, they served as a Lead Programme Officer at Aga Khan Health Service India, where they focused on Health Management and Information Systems.

In 2008, they joined The Global Fund as a Senior Officer in Monitoring & Evaluation. During their tenure, they developed the M&E framework for HIV/AIDS counseling programs and implemented the M&E system in accordance with the work plan.

In 2015, Diwakar joined Landesa as the National Manager for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning. Diwakar played a crucial role in establishing systems, procedures, and tools for an efficient M&E system and program evaluation for livelihood convergence and land allocation for the poor. Moreover, they developed a platform for electronic data collection and developed KPIs pathways and ToC to measure the impacts of secured land rights.

Most recently, Diwakar served as the Head of Insights for the South Asia Region at Water.org, starting in 2016.

Diwakar Das completed their Master's in Population Studies (MPS) with a focus on Demography and Population Studies at the International Institute for Population Sciences from 2005 to 2006. Diwakar then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Population and Development at Sri Venkateswara University, completing their degree from 2012 to 2019. Prior to their PhD, they obtained a Master's Degree in Rural Management and Development (PGRMD) from an unspecified institution between 2002 and 2004.

In addition to their formal education, Diwakar Das obtained several certifications. In 2007, they received training on Gender and Reproductive Health from the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. In 2009, they participated in an International Training on Evaluating Health Care Intervention at IIHMR University. In 2012, they completed a Course on M&E (Data Management) at the JOHN HOPKINS UNIVERSITY and obtained another certification titled "High Performance Teams-building capacity" from Dale Carnegie Training India in the same year.
