Abdirahman Ahmed has a range of work experience in IT support roles. Abdirahman started as a Level 2 Mobile Technician at Unipart Group in 2011, where they diagnosed, repaired, and refurbished mobile phones. In 2012, they worked as a Network rollout Engineer at Rico Logistics. From 2013 to 2017, Abdirahman worked at the University of East London as a Service Desk Analyst and later as an IT Service Desk Advisor, providing support to staff and students. Since 2017, they have been working at WaterAid as an IT Support Officer, providing first and second line support to over 500 people in 18 countries.
Abdirahman Ahmed began their education by attending City College Coventry from 2006 to 2008. Abdirahman obtained a Higher National Diploma in Computing during this time. Following that, from 2009 to 2011, they continued their studies at Birmingham City University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Networks.
In addition to their formal education, Abdirahman Ahmed has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they became a Service Desk Analyst certified by The Service Desk Institute (SDI) and also obtained an ITIL Certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Abdirahman further enhanced their skills by completing the ECDL certification offered by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2016. In 2017, they achieved the Apple Certified Associate - Mac Integration 10.12 certification from Apple. Most recently, in December 2021, they obtained the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager - Admin Concepts and Cloud Services certification from Microsoft.
