Mattias Gijsbertsen

Mattias Gijsbertsen is a seasoned professional in public administration and social policy, currently serving as a Senior Managing Consultant at Berenschot since November 2022, where expert advice is provided to governments and organizations on complex governance issues. Gijsbertsen holds several significant positions, including membership on the Supervisory Board of Veilig Thuis Gelderland-Midden and as a Commissioner at Waterbedrijf Groningen, alongside the role of Chairman of the board at Mobility Mentoring® Netwerk Nederland, which supports non-profits in addressing financial and social challenges. Previous roles include the directorship of a national program against domestic violence and child abuse, and serving as an Alderman and First Deputy Mayor of Groningen, where responsibilities encompassed the coordination of social domain matters. Gijsbertsen also has experience in academia as a Political Science lecturer at Hogeschool Windesheim and holds a Master’s degree in History from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
