Gary Ruggiero has extensive experience in music education and performance, serving as a visiting mentor at Waterbury Public Schools since September 2018. Ruggiero has been active as a music educator, professional musician, certified adjudicator, and musician contractor since 1972, providing professional performances, music subbing in schools, judging at adjudication events, and contracting musicians for various performances. Previous roles include band director at Danbury High School and Central High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Ruggiero directed various ensembles. In addition to music, Ruggiero has worked as an installer for Life Alert and MedScope since 2009, and held positions as a medical alert installer at Best Buy Health and a swap driver at Acura of Milford. Ruggiero holds a Master of Science in Music Education from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Berklee College of Music.
