Daniel E. Estrin has extensive work experience in the legal field, with a focus on environmental law. Daniel E. is currently serving as the General Counsel & Advocacy Director at Waterkeeper Alliance, where they fight for clean water and protects communities from water resource threats. Prior to joining Waterkeeper Alliance in 2016, Estrin worked as a Clinical Law Professor & Managing Attorney at Pace University School of Law from 2006 to 2015. Daniel E. also served as a Special Counsel at Kennedy & Madonna, LLP from 2001 to 2006 and as an Associate Attorney at Chadbourne & Parke LLP from 1993 to 2001, where they primarily worked in environmental insurance/reinsurance and commercial litigation. In addition, Estrin has experience as a Summer Associate at Siff Rosen, P.C. (now known as Melito & Adolfsen) in 1992, focusing on environmental insurance coverage disputes, and as a Summer Research Assistant at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in 1991. Daniel E. began their legal career in 1990 as a Legal Intern at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, where they settled numerous administrative enforcement matters through consent orders.

Daniel E. Estrin obtained their B.A. degree in Environmental Policy from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh from 1987 to 1989. Daniel E. then pursued a J.D. degree in Environmental Law from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, which they completed from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, they received several certifications, including COVID-19 Contact Tracing from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in September 2020. Daniel E. was admitted to practice law before New York State courts in January 1994 and became a Notary Public in the same year. Daniel E. also obtained a Certification in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law in May 1993.
